Eternal Father,
turn Your merciful gaze upon all mankind
and especially upon poor sinners,
all enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus.
For the sake of His sorrowful passion show us Your mercy,
that we may praise the omnipotence of Your mercy for ever and ever.

Not long ago I dared to follow a so called "dream," a dream that became reality when one day I found myself in a place different from my home.
O my God,
I am heartily sorry for having offended You.
I detest all my sins because I dread the loss of Heaven
and the pains of hell.
But most of all because they offend You, my God,
Who are all good and deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve,
with the help of Your grace to sin no more
and to avoid the near occasions of sin.
Amen.
O Sacred Heart,
You are the only object of my love,
the guardian of my life,
my assurance of salvation,
the remedy of my weakness and inconstancy,
the atonement for all the faults of my life
and my refuge at the hour of death.
O Blessed Saint Joseph,
to thee do we cry in our tribulations,
as we confidently invoke your patronage,
after that of your most holy spouse,
the Blessed Virgin Mary.
O Jesus, Good Shepherd,
You heal the sick and needy.
I give you all those parts of my body
which have suffered from illness.
You know what it is like to endure pain.
Look kindly on me today and heal me.
Restore me to strength of soul and body.
O Jesus, grant us all Your healing grace
of love and peace.
Even when I show You the thorny side of my character,
or when I’m sharp, unloving to those I love
unapproachable, or in a bad mood,
You still show Your goodness to me
and let Your love shine down to bring me joy.
Thank You, Lord.
Even one small drop of Your love
on my thorniness is enough to soften me
with the radiance of Your presence.
When I was ordained a deacon and later a priest, I worked with young people in one parish in the Philippines. One of my favorite places was the parish youth ministry office. There I was able to meet young people and listen to their stories — of struggles, hurts and rejections. And sometimes we can be the source of rejection.
O Lord, remove from me all that can displease You
or resist Your holy will;
let your pure love imprint Your image
so deeply upon my heart,
that I shall never be able to forget You
or to be separated from You.
Columban Fr. Timothy Mulroy, U.S. director, was in Los Angeles, Calif., October 7, for the dedication of a plaque honoring three Columbans who were instrumental in the founding of St. Bridget Chinese Catholic Church and the Chinese Mission Center. The event was part of the Columban Fathers' centennial festivities in the U.S.
The Columbans are a society of missionaries, including priests and lay people, who minister to people of various cultures as a way of witnessing to the universal love of God.
We go in the name of the Church to announce, by deed and word, the Good News of Jesus Christ.
